Israel to Choose Acceptable Foreign Troops for Gaza Cease Fire

International News

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that Israel will decide which foreign troops are acceptable to participate in the proposed Gaza cease-fire force. This announcement has sparked diplomatic debate across the Middle East, as global powers push for a multinational effort to stabilize the war-torn region.

Netanyahu emphasized that while Israel supports peace, it will not compromise its national security. Israel alone will determine which foreign forces are acceptable and which are not, he said, reinforcing the country intent to maintain control over Gaza’s security operations.

The proposed cease-fire plan, backed by the United States, the United Nations, and several European allies, seeks to deploy international troops to monitor peace and facilitate humanitarian aid to Gaza. However, Israel’s condition to pre-approve participating countries has raised concerns about delays and disagreements.

Analysts believe Netanyahu’s stance reflects Israel’s distrust toward certain regional actors and its determination to prevent any force that could restrict its military freedom. Meanwhile, humanitarian organizations warn that every delay in implementing the cease-fire means continued suffering for civilians in Gaza, where hospitals and infrastructure remain devastated.

The coming weeks will test whether the international community can find a compromise that ensures both Israel’s security and Gaza urgent humanitarian needs.
